Because there are so many variables it can be misleading to give any 'typical' costs for a website but, to give you some idea of our range of services and prices, here are some very basic ballpark descriptions and prices;

A Basic Personal Website

Design- £350 to £750
Domain and Silver Plan Site Hosting £45 pa
Domain Registration cost - usually £7 - £12 pa

A basic 'personal' 5 - 10 page site with simple ready to use graphics and text on each page, basic text or simple graphic links, a search engine, an enquiry form and basic search engine optimization, but no complex interactive components.  This type of website would cost between £350 - £750.

This cost does not include buying a domain and web hosting which would cost around £40 per year. The whole outlay for a very basic 'personal interest' website would be about £400 to £550. This would include a basic enquiry form and newsletter subscription form linked to the Interspire Email Marketing Service, but no self-editing, or other interactive features such as a discussion group or downloadable e-courses and pdf's.

Design- £750 to £2000 (depending on extra services described below)

This would be a more complex website suitable for a small business or organisation. It would include the basic website utilities described above, as well as a higher number of 10 - 40 pages, more elaborate graphical text links, production of more complex site graphics, javascript drop down menus and the use of clickable image maps, assistance setting up and using your Interspire mailing list and newsletter Service to deliver downloadable e-books and e-courses, setting up and using the Interspire scheduled mailing list software and linking a mailing list and newsletter subscription form directly to your website.

This would cost in the region of £750 - £2,000, depending on services chosen, plus the cost of the Interspire Mailing List Service licence, the domain and site hosting per year.

A Large Business/Organisation Website

Design- £2000 to £3000 (depending on extra services described below)
Domain and Gold Plan Site Hosting £80 pa
free initial Domain Registration cost - then £7 - £12 pa

This would be suitable for a large business or organisation. It would include the basic and small business/organisation utilities described above, free scheduled mailing list software, downloadable pdf's and e-courses, complex contact forms, full search engine optimization, setting up Google Adsense and Adwords, basic search engine optimisation, production of some flash animated graphics, recommend-it and print this page utilities, setting up Paypal or Worldpay credit card payments.

Your site can also be designed as a Joomla-based self-editing website, including tuition and this can include a Learning Environment providing online courses, tuition and assessment.

All would increase the cost in the region of £2,000 to £3,000, depending on services chosen, plus the cost of the domain and site hosting per year.

A Comprehensive Commercial/E-commerce Website

Design- £3000 - £5000 + (depending on extra services described below)
Domain and Platinum Plan Site Hosting £120 pa
free initial Domain Registration cost - then £7 - £12 pa

A comprehensive commercial business or specialist website, including all of the basic, small and large business utilities described above but also with an option for discussion groups, mysql databases, php linking campaign software, streaming media files, onlne blogs, a greater number of e-books and e-courses, a commerce site attached (or standalone) and setting up Paypal or Worldpay payment services.

All would cost upward of £3,000, depending on services chosen, the size of the shop, how much shopping cart graphic and text preparation needs to be done by Webworlds, number of items being sold, cost of software and other relevant factors.

These are very general 'ballpark' figures. For example, sometimes a single page can be built and hosted for £75 while some sites after initial consultation have been costed upward of £5,000.

What is paramount is that you as Client will be given enough information about what is available and how much it will cost, so that an informed, realistic and affordable quotation can be agreed.

50% of the agreed fee will be payable in advance as a non-returnable site deposit to cover advance costs for initial design and consultancy. The remaining 50% is payable just before full publication of the site.
