The Global Village
There are billions of Internet and World Wide Web users across the world and online communication and networking tools have made it possible for people to set up dynamic contact with others, sharing information and even developing romantic relationships; no matter where in the world they may be.

Beyond Time and Space
Online networking pays no heed to international or time boundaries and this has paved the way for many new 'virtual' communities to develop around common interests. These are communities of people sharing knowledge and activity interests, exchanging materials, debating and discussing issues, and sometimes offering mutual support.

Working out the Rules as we go
New communication and information sharing protocols are having to be developed which take into account multiple languages and cultural styles. Copyright and ownership issues are still being resolved as traditional publishing laws are found to be inapplicable in this new boundary-less networking world.

Keeping the Online Customer Satisfied
Inevitably, business has also recognised the opportunity and commercial communities are springing up across the world; customers and clients requiring product support; special website community memberships with special priviledges and opportunities; maintaining an online community of product users has become an essential way of keeping in touch and maintaining virtual customer contact.

Joomla - Swahili - "all together as a whole"
A lot of new networking and information sharing software has been written over the past decade, and Webworlds has thoroughly explored and researched what is available for building online communities.

After research, Joomla is our preferred tool for building community websites; they are intuitive to use and offer a wide range of available bolt-on modules and components which extend a community website in many exciting ways. We have worked closely with software designers in the Mambo/Joomla community to produce ever better modules and components, continually testing and refining them.

If you are interested in producing an organisational or business online community, Webworlds will work closely with you to help you understand the practical software and networking options that are available. Setting up an online community requires a lot of planning, and large commitment of time and we will help you understand the reality of this commitment; what will be required to plan, manage and maintain the community.
